Freaky Ass Story of the Day - Mein Teil Rammstein

Once upon a time there was a guy in Germany called Armin Meiwes.
Armin decided to put an advert on the internet for someone to eat (mmmm...nice).

Some very well adjusted man answered the ad and agreed for Armin to eat him (stay with me on this one..)

Armin drugs the man and plies him with alcohol while taking off selections of his body to eat....they both have a bit of a nosh of the mans nether regions (ewwwwwww).

The man didn't live (funny that) but Armin didn't require any additional protein in his diet for weeks.

I am not making this story up. It really did happen and it is the subject of Rammstein's song "Mein Teil".

Rammstein are extremely good at taking the piss so when they perform it on stage the keyboard player Flake is brought out in a big copper pot with steam rising from it. Till Linderman the lead singer has a mike which when you flip it around is a knife and he is dressed in a butchers apron and hat.

As the song is sung in German here are some snippets of the lyrics translated into English:

"Today I will meet a gentleman
He likes me so much he could eat me up
soft things and even hard ones are on the menu...
It's just so well seasoned and so nicely flambéed and so lovingly served on porcelain and with it, a good wine and gentle candlelight

Yet, I'll take my time
You've got to have some culture
Because you are what you eat

and you know what it is..."

If you are a sick bastard like me who would like to read the full account of Armin Meiwes you can read about it here

I may personally go vegetarian for a for a few weeks :)
Here are Rammstein on stage doing their thing for "Mein Teil" (My Part).

  1. There was a documentary on TV here in the UK a few months back about Armin Meiwes. He was interviewed in prison. The guy believed he loved his victim and that by eating him a part of him was inside him forever. [shudder]

Love Rammstein's take on it, too. Those big beefy Germans always manage to make me smile.

  2. Hi Lisa,

I read somewhere that Armin thought that.
When this case was still in the news I went on to the message board that he was posting on and he had a number of people interested. Makes you wonder :)
